Today marks the anniversary of the beginning of the Sisters of Bon Secours.

One Hundred and Eighty Seven years ago in Paris, France, 12 young women committed themselves before God and the Church. They made the commitment to nurse the sick in their homes and to be a sign to people that “there is a God who loves you.” These pioneering women nursed people from all walks of life, stayed in their homes and cared for the family and the sick person for as long as was needed. They instilled the compassion, healing and liberation into the core of Bon Secours.
By staying true to their mission of giving Good Help to Those in Need®, they began this 187-year legacy that continues to grow and flourish in the many ministries we serve. What amazing, brave women who began the congregation we are today!
