April is National Stress Awareness Month. Undoubtedly you feel stress in this crazy, fast-paced world of ours. How do you handle stress in your life? What kinds of things give you the most stress in your daily life? How do you cope? Do you feel a sense of peace after you pray or meditate about it?
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Ps. 68:18-20

I have been learning how to meditate through prayer. It is not so easy to quiet my mind down sometimes, and I am just learning, but I think it will be a very positive method!
Even for experienced, disciplined people who meditate it is sometimes difficult to calm one’s mind. One way to do this is to use a sacred word, like God, Jesus, peace, love, one that you can use whenever your mind fills with the imagination, emotions, running thoughts, etc. Just keep saying it, let your sacred word surface within you – over time it will become automatic. The important thing to remember is the intent of your prayer: to put yourself into God’s presence. Blessings!
