Forum 1 “Discerning Your Call”
Forum 2: "Is God Calling Me to Religious Life?"
Do You Know Where You are Going?
Have you asked God?
The process of making a decision about your life engaging God’s
help is called discernment, such as in discerning a call to religious
life. To discern your calling, you begin by spending some time getting
to know God who is at work in your life.
You see how God is there in
your relationship with others and with the things that happen to you.
As you get to know God, better, you also come to a better understanding
of yourself. Spending time in reflection and prayer, you relax knowing
that God wants what is best for you.
Now you move deeper into this loving relationship listening to the
voice of the Spirit through your experiences—listening within your heart!
Looking
inside your self, reflectively explore your likes, dislikes, fears,
dreams, hopes, skills, talents and interests. What are your strengths
and limitations?
Pay attention to your feelings. Journal your thoughts and gather the
facts. Look at the possible alternatives. Check out the pros and
cons of each. Talk to those you know who can be objective about your
choices.
Spend time with someone living as a religious. Pay attention to your
feelings and once you have made a decision, see if you are at peace
with it. Test it over time. Get further feedback from others. This
is a remarkable
process that need not be hurried. In the end you will know what God
is calling you to do.

Forum 3 “Human Trafficking”
Human Trafficking is a form of slavery that is occurring throughout the globe. According to the Department of Labor, there are 17,500 victims per year. These victims, through the use of threat, force, coercion or deception, are lured or abducted by traffickers posing as marriage brokers, job recruiters or other professional roles. Traffickers can be family members, friends, business associates or even an intended spouse. Victims, both children and adults, are forced into labor or commercial sexual exploitation.
