Bon Secours' Common Vision

We are women of prayer whose vibrant, hope filled faith communities draw new sisters and others to share in innovative ways our Charism of healing, liberation and compassion. As prophetic women totally committed to do justice in radical solidarity with the poor, the suffering and those most in need, we proclaim the gospel where it is not. Our witness to God’s presence is marked by a passionate spirit and enthusiasm for the kingdom.

Prayer builds a relationship with God that guides life decisions

Prayer is a priority for the Sisters of Bon Secours. Through prayer we deepen our relationship with God. It is at those times of prayer that we learn, grow, and understand what God is calling us to do.

Sr. Angelique Geay, the Bon Secours second superior general said “Above all, pray.

Prayer will make all things possible for you. Isn’t our strength in the Lord who knows the needs of his children?”

At various points in our lives every Sisters of Bon Secours has asked God for help. Prayer is at the very core of a sister’s life. The presence of God supports and sustains her as she continues on her path of faith and service.

scan08 Prayer is shared in community. Joining our voices and desires, we call out to God as a group asking not only for guidance about our own questions, but also for answers to the prayers people have shared with us – people with whom we work, people we encounter during leisure time, and people we’ve never met but who, nonetheless, have asked for our prayers.

We blend these petitions into our individual prayers, which is also when we work on that relationship that sustains us, a relationship that we desire for everyone who seeks to be closer to God.

We help others on their prayer journeys by sharing our stories, and we invite people to participate in retreats and other spiritual programs at the Bon Secours Spiritual Center.
